Paul Rice Fundraising Dinner - Friday 23rd November 2012

When Paul Rice became ill and began receiving his treatment, many of those who visited him received the same talk - that he wanted to raise money for those in a similar position to him. Typically selfless of Paul, he spoke of plans for fundraising nights and charity events. As well too sadly know, Paul passed away before much of that could come to fruition.

As part of Paul's legacy, a Paul Rice Gala Dinner will take place on Friday 23rd November 2012, at The Isla Gladstone Conservatory in Stanley Park. It will be an evening to remember Paul Rice and to raise funds for his designated charity, SPLOSH.

For those who don't know, SPLOSH stands for Staff, Patients and Loved Ones Supporting Haematology. It was set up by Paul to raise funds to help people who need the care and support of the dedicated staff who work at the Haematology Department at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital.

The Gala Dinner will be an evening of food, drink and entertainment - an opportunity to remember a man who gave so much to so many.  There are a limited number of tickets still available for the evening, costing £35 and these can be purchased by emailing Karen.deas@liverpool.gov.uk

Brian Reade will be your compere, Comedian Mark Langley will provide the laughs and live music will be provided by The Wickermen as well as a local DJ. As Paul would like it, the bar is open from 7:00 p.m. until 1:00 a.m.
Throughout the evening, an Auction and a Raffle to raise further funds for SPLOSH will take place. A full list of auction items and prizes will be published soon and anyone who is unable to attend the event but wishes to take part will be able to purchase Raffle tickets or register a bid for an Auction item via the SOS website.

We hope you will be able to make it.
