2013 Management Committee Elections

This year’s election process for the election of members on the Liverpool Supporters' Union Management Committee will follow the timetable below. The first steps will be to seek nominations for the Committee.  Please use the downloadable nomination form and return by the deadline date. Nomination forms should be returned to secretary@spiritofshankly.com or to Spirit of Shankly, c/o EDT, 98 Great Homer Street, Liverpool, L5 3LF.
 
Once nominations have closed we will open electronic voting, if the number of nominations is more than the number of positions available on the committee. This correspondence will include the 200 word supporting statement provided by nominees. 
 
We will formally ratify the results of the election at the 2013 AGM which will be held at 11.30am on the 21st September 2013 at Liverpool Lighthouse, Anfield (Details here). 
 
The election process will only be open to currently active Liverpool Supporters' Union members. You can check on the status or renew your membership by logging here http://www.spiritofshankly.com/renew or by emailing admin@spiritofshankly.com.
 
 

Election Timetable

 
18th August 2013 - Opening of Nominations for Elections
6th September 2013 - Closure of Nominations for Elections
10th September 2013 - Email to members with registered email addresses confirming candidates and the opening of Voting for any contested posts
19th September 2013 - Closure of Voting
21st September 2013 - Announcement of Results
 
 

Committee Structure

 
As per section 11.9 of our constitution, "A minimum of five places on the Committee shall be subject to re-election or, in the case of vacancies, election at (or by prior ballot to) each Annual General Meeting." As there are currently fourteen members on the Management Committee there will be four people up for re-election.
 
With one current vacancy there will be five positions on the Management Committee up for Election. As per section 11.9 of our constitution: "Retiring members shall be eligible for re- election at the Annual General Meeting at which they retire."
 
Those elected at the forthcoming AGM will serve a maximum term not exceeding the third Annual General Meeting following her/his election.
 
We encourage members who wish to take an active role within the Union to put themselves forward for election.
