Sporting Heroes Live 20th May 2010 (RJMF Event)

It would be hard for anyone not to have been aware of the murder of 11 year old Rhys Jones on the 22nd August 2007 in Liverpool and the tragedy that befell his parents and family. The Rhys Jones Memorial Fund are attempting raise to enough funds to build a sporting community centre in the area were Rhys lived. The centre will bear Rhys’s name and will give children and adults the opportunity to create community cohesion through sports and entertainment and hopefully deflect them away from crime and anti social behaviour.

A unique sporting dinner 'Sporting Heros Live' featuring Liverpool's Sporting elite is being held on 20th May 2010 at Aintree racecouse to help boost funds for the charity with support from an array of Liverpool personalities and sporting organisations (KITBAG/EFC).

The format of the event is inspired by the 'fantasy football' Tv show with its own 'living room' set combining all sports. A place where all engage in sporting events from Grandnational saturdays to cup finals, where John Parrott will interview on the sofa an array of sporting personalities including Liverpool legend Phil Thompson and Everton great Graeme Sharp.  Joined by Olympic heroes Beth Tweddle, Steve Smith, David Price and local boxer Tony Quigley, all will share their memories of how they made thier name in Liverpool and celebrate our cities great sporting achievements.

My goal is to demonstrate the value of this centre in merseyside in order to inspire our young people of their potenitial and follow in the footsteps of these sporting heros.

All our supporters are passionate about helping deliver the final set of funding that will make the £1.5 million development happen.

Stephen and Melanie Jones are delighted that so many sports stars are giving up their time to support this event and look forward to a night to remember.

Tickets £100 per seat and £1,000 per table.  For Ticket enquiries please contact Christine on christine@chellewproductions.co.uk or 0151 244 5622
